She always seemed very happy, which actually made my part SO much harder. I knew that physically she was deteriorating but she never acted like she felt bad. She was constantly hungry and would follow me around all day hoping for a bite of something tasty. If I sat down, she was ready for lap duty. I've always loved her dearly, but since I've been so close to her trying to take care of her the last month or so, I am feeling the loss very deeply.

Everywhere I look in this house, something reminds me of Picabo and I start welling up again. Her food and water bowls, her favorite sleeping spot by the window - I'm wishing I could turn my mind off at will right now. If I distract myself for a minute, I'll imagine I hear her about to jump up on my lap, or see her out of the corner of my eye. I feel like I'm losing it.

I just want my friend back.
