"Welcome to our World" ... (humorous - but truth...)
Ok I am unsure if y'all are using Microsoft Windows Vista,
but if you are - the problem is not because of FF - but
rather Microsoft Vista!
Ever since MS Vista came out with their Service Pack 2,
it has been a "nightmare from hell" - I am dead serious!
WHY?
It had disabled services that I wanted enabled
It reverted services that are supposed to be enabled to manual
It had deleted bookmarks (thank goodness I had it backed up)
PLUS - it added some Windows 7 to the Vista!
WHY in the world would the Service Pack 2 have Win 7
in it? After it "screwed" up my Security, Programs, IE 8,
FF, etc - I spent hours on my computers putting it all back
together and guess what?
31 freaking updates to fix that Svc Pk 2! All in one day?

Right back to square one again (see above rant) - I was
starting to get pretty ...
It was messing up everything - it disorganized my neat and
tidy bookmarks - and deleted some of them; and above all things,
Win Live Mail? Arggghhh! It made Freddy Kruger or Jason look
like "nice guys" ...
Having no choice but to delete the AOL browser (rendered
worthless), stuck with IE 8 (and to pronounce it I ee ate, some
how was sort of "fitting" (well to me it was at the moment)...)
and FF. It was driving me up to the wall - trying to find a
browser that was functional without some stupid ERROR!
*sigh*
Then comes along with more updates?
My gosh - how many fixes for that Svc Pk 2?

Then comes 11 updates ....

Now in dire straights - "To update or not to update, that
is the question!"
Being in a lock-jaw state; must had lost presence of mind,
never knowing if I did the right thing or wrong thing - but
*KERPOW!* Ending up right back to square one again (if
there were ever a time someone literally wanted to throw
a computer out the windows, this might had been a very good
time to do it) - however, it did not do "much damage" as it
had done so earlier ~ so it was easier to put it back in its
own original state.
I will be honest, I had been tempted to "Roll back" and get
out of there; but I am glad I didn't do it - then FF came along
with this new update and the IE 8 also has a new fix as well,
and this part here I am not able to explain.
What I could not retrieve in my bookmarks, suddenly reappears?
(I had been in my registry editor, and they were there, but trying
to get them to manifest "out here" was a different story)...
I admit this one thing - I am slightly amused to find my bookmark
settings all right back to where it originally was before the Svc Pk
2 came along and did it's own "Hocus Pocus".
When reviewing the History in the Update list, it is mind boggling
for the total of 52 updates / fixes - just from Microsoft alone.
Insomuch I have now renamed my Microsoft Updates to:
Microsoft Screwup Updates (Everyone thinks it's hilarious)...
No one needs to comment on that.
