Some bacteria may remain in there and travel to the bone of your jaw. If this happens even antibiotics may not cure it. Bone infections do not respond
to antibiotics well. Upper teeth abscesses may pierce the sinus membrane and drain thru the maxillary sinus and give a false sense of "cure"..in reality the infection is moving thru your whole body. If in the lower jaw, it can move to the bone and once there cause necrosis.

Not everyone can handle 30 grams of Vitamin C in one day.
People with poor kidney functions would not be able to handle this dose.
And many people do not know what their kidney function level is in reality.
As we age most kidney functions decrease. Many people are walking around with 1/2 function (or less) with no symptoms at all.

I have to say, with all due respect that anyone with an abscess should seek
dental help ASAP. Please do not self medicate one.
Hi, it didn't burst in my mouth or anything. It continued to feel as if it was deep under the gum/skin.

I didn't swallow anything because there was nothing to swallow.

According to the Periodontist, the old type of dental implants I have are bumpy surfaced and they encourage infection. I have an infection in my bone around them, and that will be removed surgically and a graft put in. That's scheduled for next month.

Yes, I think I've had these infections for a long time, and I think that's why I continued to have a faint reddish line under my thumb nail on my right hand, even after huge amounts of Metronidazol.

I think it's lucky I read the article about vitamin C saving people with tetanus in Bangladesh... because I kept taking vitamin C.

Only then my skin was getting ... almost like a hard surface, so I thought it was the vitamin C.

Now that I've stopped taking the Ibuprofen in such huge amounts (I've in fact stopped taking it at all) my skin is going back to normal...

Oh, yes, I totally agree that 30 grams of vitamin C may be way too much for many people. Yes.

I'm really tall and also quite fat right now. (Not being able to move does not help in losing weight.)

I had been taking maybe 20 or 24 grams a day, and it sort of kept it under control. But the 30 grams gave a more complete result.

The thing is that I keep having these weird ... not sure what to call them ... things on my left hand. First there was one and I put alcohol on it a lot and it finally reduced to not much. Then one day there was a tiny scrape like thing that appeared, maybe around a quarter of an inch. But it got worse and looked like it was getting infected, the red raised ring thing around it.

So I went with alcohol again, and vitamin C and it reduced. But last night I was stressed, I forget why, and it got all red again.

So I think that must be related to the infection.

And that probably also explains why I'm still losing hair. (I lost a lot of hair while I was living in the hydrogen sulfide.)

Vitamin C is apparently as potent as antibiotics.

I think that if I'd understood it, I could have killed the clostridia with it. But the 20 grams wasn't enough in a body as large as mine.

Well, thank you for writing.
