I'm sorry your mom is still going through all of this.

When my mom had bunion surgery as an out-patient, she ended up with a terrible infection that got into the bone. She required more surgery to remove a section of bone in her big toe and then she had to wear a fanny pack with antibiotics for at least 2 months. Every 2nd day she had to go to a hosp. to have the fanny pack replaced. What a hassle. I believe the costs were covered but, then we are in Canada so I know we have different medical coverage.
