Hi!! And welcome to NT! I have an acdf as well, and have had major surgery in my right shoulder, and in my left. I have staples in the right one. I am afraid that the cold will always have some affect on you. We have some good forums for you to check out with lots of information in them. There are many helpful people here as well.
