Default God is not diabetic

I do believe that God created the heavens and earth as outlined in Genesis. He did all of His creating in 6 days and rested on the 7th with no ill effects. I did my creating in 4 days and not totally finished yet. My wife and son have been out of town all week and I have been working on his bedroom. We got him a drumset and I continued refurbishing his room with curtains, new rods, putting together a CD tower, shelving, putting down a carpet for his drums and other little things. And have been checking my sugar all along and had readings from 90-110. Figured I was doing OK here.

Made it to Thursday night and was getting hungry for dinner. Did not want to fix it myself and wanted to go out for something. Well, time to check the blood and if high-salad night, if low-pizza night. It came back 30, did not feel this one at all. OK sugar. Now hands and legs are shaking, got the glucose tablets and spilled them on the floor, tried to open this bottle of liquid sugar and could not get the top off, could not remember where I kept the Coke, even though it was sitting on the kitchen table. Made it to a chair, plopped and dialed 911. Good thing it's only 3 digits, any more would spell trouble.

The ambulance showed with a fire truck, a standard here, and they are pushing gel carbs in my mouth, now shaking violently, hard to talk, incoherant. They take me to the ER, they could treat me at home, but being here by myself, no, off to the hospital. In the ambulance sugar is now 70, still too low, now an IV.

At the ER the doc came in and said her name plus she is a resident here. I asked, you live here? She laughed, I am still out of it. What conditions do you have? She had a small piece of paper with about half an inch of writing space, told her everything is on the computer. The nurse looked up everything and remarked that I was a walking medical textbook, yea I said, volumns A-Z. Blood sugar now 277 after 2 turkey sandwiches, graham crackers, coke and peanut butter, not what I really wanted for supper, but not much of a choice now.

Got home about 10:30 via a cab. Now doing OK. First thing I did was to place cans of Coke around the house, only if I can remeber these cans are sitting out.

Peace,

David
