I got a fake phishing email today ... saying I need to pay for something I "bought".
This is what one should do...
do not click on anything in the email.
Do not reply to the email.
Copy the information to
spoof@ebay.com
include the real header if you know how to do that.
After copying it, remove it from your email account.
Also they suggest running a virus scan on it if you download
your mail (I do not).
All messages from Ebay show up on your profile. Go immediately to your account and see if the email is duplicated there. If not, it is a fake.
Another way to tell is if your name is missing off the email.
(mine was today).
They suggest changing your password if you receive one of these.
I got an answer within 1/2 hr that it was a fake mail from Ebay.
They are really quick to answer these and request that anyone
receiving one send it along ASAP.
