Lemon slices cut just so
and perched sugared on the rim
The lemonade was so fancy and refreshing
I'm sure it was a sin

A dozen lemons, halved and seeded
Mixed with ice and sugar in the big antique jar
Topped off the picnic with perfect grace
And left smiles upon her face

Now lemonade is a little simpler
Shake the packet of powder in a bottle of water
And you are good to go
But with the same results-a perfect drink
To cool down the summer heat

Drinking it on a front porch swing
Seems an ideal way to enjoy
But drinking it "au naturel" is also a choice
And one that's hard to beat
