I had a very similar situation and excellent result from remedial massage.
Awful headaches that just wouldn't go no matter what. Everyone said it was just arthritis, neck is worn out, get used to it and take pain pills.
New pain doc examined my neck and found very sore, tight muscles there, down to the shoulders. Referred me to a clinical physio, who drew up a plan of daily light stretches and exercises, along with remedial massage for as long as it was needed.
Said give it 2-3 months to take effect.
Well, it worked. The massages gave immediate relief, though she has had to work very hard at it-I feel a bit sorry for her!
The exercises are gradually strengthening my back muscles, stopping them from contracting and pulling on the neck muscles.
So make sure that you give equal attention or more to your muscular system, as it can cause all sorts of pains that you might think are spinal.
Haven't had that sort of headache for 3 weeks or so, whereas they were once or twice a week.
