Acetyl carnitine and CoQ-10 work on the mitochondria in each cell. New research has suggested that damaged mitochrondria are the cause of many chronic afflictions today.

Both supplements are rather benign side effect-wise. But they are rather costly. CoQ-10 may not be absorbed well, unless you use one that advertises enhanced absorption on the label. This raises the price too.

Both are used in PN therapies (peripheral neuropathy) where drugs or toxins have damaged the mitochondria.
Acetyl carnitine has also shown promise in protecting normal cells from Chemo drug treatments. PN often is a painful side effect of Chemo.
