Default Skin surgery and Bier blocks

Okay,

I have some sun damage and associated lesion on the arm which I have been dealing with CRPS. My understanding is that you do NOT do surgery of any type on an extremity for which CRPS is an issue.

My PM doc is recommending a Bier block prior to removing what otherwise would have been an in office procedure to deal with the dermatological issue. He feels this is necessary to stop pain signals ffrom getting the the spinal cord and lighting up the CRPS again.

Does anyone have any experience base with either Bier blocks or doing dermatological surgery on a CRPS affected extremity?

Thanks!
