Hi Dubious!!!
I have exacty what you are describing... I was completely scared as it happened the first time while I was driving on the interstate...
My MD sent me to an eye specialist....he does mostly eye surgerys for various diseases of the eye.
After running many, many tests on my eyes... He found nothing out of the norm... but had me describe to him exactly what was happening...
Turned out I was and still have Occular Migraines with Aura's. The Aura's alert me to an upcoming Occular Migraine which eventually turn in to full blown migraine headaches.
He attributed this all to RSD affecting the blood vessels to my eyes and brain.
Please get checked as MrsD suggested... rule out everything you can.
