Hi Erin,
I'm very sorry for what is happening to you, you certainly have the right to be sad…but I would like to tell more: there will be other moments which will be as rewarding as the past ones, and may be even more.
When we married (in Belgium, 46 years ago…), we flew to Central Africa for my work, we stayed there 4 years with a four month holiday in between, our first two sons were born over there, we corresponded with the family, we shot color movies which we sent to the parents and after one year stay in Belgium, we were sent for two years in Pittsburgh, Pa…and we continued the system!
Now, one of our sons is settled in Montreal (Canada)…and it is our turn…but nowdays, one could call and webcam do work wonderfully…
One last thing, 2 weeks ago, we had a party for my 70th birthday (a surprise for me!)with all the family and some friends, most of them coming from about 500 miles away and gess what, my son from Montreal was there, just for the week-end!
Those are also unforgetable moments…
Maurice.
