I liked the way the PSA was phrased... especially:
-- that bipolar was presented as a "
brain disorder" which implies chemicals or structure, and not so much psychological factors. such a description is less subject to "they just need to get their act together" reactions from people.
-- the characterization by "
unusual or dramatic mood swings" which pretty much covers all types of bipolar, and again, does not sound scandalous
-- noting of the problem of
frequent misdiagnosis and consequent improper treatment.
These are things that just don't often get heard. i don't know who wrote that PSA but my compliments to them.
