Default CRPS Report on Australian TV

Hi Guys

Some of you may be aware of this, but I thought I'd post it here for the rest of you to see.

A couple of Australian RSDers were interviewed for a tv report about RSD. The show is primarily a medical/science show and they did a very good report. They showed the wide differences in symptoms and severity from one person to the next. This is the first time RSD has been reported on tv in this country.

The only thing I was a little unsure of was the way they talked about the ADAPT program, which is a program run by pain clinics to help people manage their pain. They made out that if you put enough effort in and worked through your pain, and CAME OFF YOUR MEDICATIONS, you could get better. Which, although it's true for some people, it isn't true for the majority of us.

For me to have any benefit from physio and getting my joints etc moving and strong, I need to be on medications, to help with the pain that comes with exercise. When I've built the strength up, then I can come off the meds and carry on the physio. But to try and exercise my arm or leg without any pain relief would just be torture.

Anyway, have a squizz and see what you think.

You can also download the video (which goes for about 15 ins) by going to the above link, clicking on "Videos" on the left hand side, then selecting the CRPS story at the top of the list.
