.....it's not GERD. There are a small minority of people who when they contact sensory neuropathy......have neuropathy of the recurrent laryngeal nerve or superior laryneal neave (see Dr. Lee B Woo). I have this, in addition to the peripheral nerve damage. I need back surgery due to stenosis. All other treatments have failed to achieve good results. It's okay though.....it will get done, and.....I may have one more scar on my throat.....but scarves are a good thing ......and I'll be able to tap dance again......
