Sometimes sensitivity doesn't happen right away. The important thing is to begin desentizing before it gets too bad and you can't stand things at all.
When I first got rsd I was only sensitive to air, not touch. It stayed that way until year 3 and then touch sensitivity started. I can't take showers anymore because it feels like a billion knives flaying my skin off my body. I can take a bath fine. I can't stand to be touched and especially not when my pain is high. I don't have many issues with clothes other than they can't be rough feeling. I have danceskin pants and those exercise type pants. They're soft and comfortable. I wear nothing but t-shirts like I always have. :-)
It's not abnormal at all. Some things just take time.
Hugs,
Karen
