My word, the things that happen in our little family when I'm not paying attention! Cara, I'm so glad your Mom is home and feeling better. What a frightening thing to happen. We've been through cancer also, I had it in '99, and my hubby in '00 (died in '01).
Al, I've been dealing with some of those faulty appliances also. But sometimes they keep on keeping on. Case in point, my dishwasher, which we bought in '83 when we first moved to TN. It is so rusted the hook for the door latch fell off, and I have to hold the door closed with a stick. But hey, if it still washes, that's better than me having to do it by hand! Even if I do have to stick my finger in the slot on the inside of the door and pretend to be a hook so that the safety latch figures it's hooked. No, I don't leave my finger in there, I take it out once the machine comes on, and prop up my trusty stick!
