there's not so many options in the herbal/natural supplement category for those with sleep disorders/insomnia. melatonin is one of them, but don't be surprised if it doesn't work right away.

It may take awhile to be metabolized and go through your system so that your body processes it, and uses it maybe even the next night or the night after you take it. Or it just may take a night or two to see the effects. Many people get relief from less than 1 mg of melatonin a night. so breaking up the tablet would be worth it.

of course there's the b vitamins too, you want to be sure to have them in you so you metabolize the melatonin correctly. if you're under 40, you may not see results from the melatonin, but if you're over 40, definitely look into it.
