Hi Carrie,
I'm so sorry you are have a rough time. I hope your pain level drops. I had a rise in pain due to not sleeping for weeks. Wouldn't get to sleep till 5-6- a.m. My Dr. said that wasn't acceptable. When we don't sleep well, we don't get restorative sleep, which in turn means pain goes way up. He has been doing a study on a med, seroquel, the study was 200 people, low dose seroquel, below the dose of what it was designed for. bi-polar.
I switched from amben cr to seroquel 5 weeks ago and my pain went way down. I went for 6 vicodin to 3 a day. Went from 6mg of lorazepam to 2 mg a day. The restorative sleep has helped me so much. The study will soon be published. The study involved fibromyalgia patients, which I have also.
He just finished building 2 new clinics and they have HBOT in each of them. He said the results of HBOT are great. I'm trying to build our coffee business up so I can afford the HBOT. Insurance doesn't cover it for RSD and is expensive.
Carrie, have you done journaling. That is something that helps me alot. I went into therapy when my parents died. And when I was diagnosed full body, my neurologist suggested i see a therapist. I didn't like the 2 names he gave me, so I found my own. I've been seeing him once a month for 5 years. He was been a lifesaver. he is a neurologist, pyschiatrist, and pharmacologist. For me, I think finding the right combination of meds has helped a lot. I went off 3200 mg. of neurotin a few months ago. Only have had a couple of jolts. About 4 years ago, I passed out for a long time, my husband things an hour and half. Paramedics told my husband they thought I was dead, couldn't find a pulse, had passed out again bp 60/40 Spent 4 days in semi/icu Just the RSD.
The hospital I asked to go to was the one the RSDSA had their annual meeting at. They are going to release a DVD of the meeting. They said 50,000 are getting RSD every year.
So sad.
I am so sorry you have been down. My Dr. switched my anti-depressant to Cymbalta 120 mg. For me, it is working better than paxil and wellbutrin. I know we are all different.
Our business has been hit hard by the economy. We have a office coffee delivery business. I'm going to try and get some new accounts this afternoon in 110 degree heat.
I haven't done this since I passed out 4 years ago. I've hired a couple of people to get new accounts. Take care and please know I'm thinking of you. I've always enjoyed your posts and encouragement. Your friend, loretta I'm 61 , married, have one daughter 29 and son in law,29. I like the picture of you and hubby. Glad you weren't hurt during the tornado you had.
