Jo*mar and bobber are very helpful. I agree you shouldn't do things right now that cause you more problems. I know that's easier said than done. there's just so many things you need to do. I understand.
Well, I found myself without answers or solutions for a long time. It is very important to find a health care provider that truly understands your whole body and you fully understand and know if it's neck or TOS, scalenes, pec major/minor before you have surgery. A second opinion is necessary too.
There are many things to try nowadays. Injections (epidurals X3 helped my neck tremendously, and also helped my low back-doc said it was an overflow, wouldn't last... but it has, or gave me a little relief so I could get several steps up on the recovery ladder), PT/OT, nautropathic, chiro, D.O., pain management, LED and infrared lights, voga, pilates, stretches, aqua therapy, relaxation techniques, Kinesio tape, hot packs/cold packs - alternate, vitamins, supplements, Rxs, Lidoderm 5% helped me get through a lot of things I was determined to do. so many things you'll find here if you're able to do some research. good nutrition, water.
and a list of no-nos too. no caffeine, no smoking... boy, this is not going to be popular.
I found out so many helpful things here. "Palms up." I read so many stories that I too can identify with. At least I'm not alone or losing my mind. Knowledge and understanding is empowering.
We lean on each other here.
