I use a TENS for back pain, actually anything that hurts gets an electrode. I get Botox injections, can't do the steroids either. I have had cervical surgeries, that developed into other issues. Lower pain, usually just the tens.

I suggest you get with a good pain management doc, there are lots of options for you before surgery.
