As far as magnets. He's used them 3 different times. The first time were the magnets that come with the insoles that slip inside the shoes. They did nothing.
The second time was a set of magnets that bought at a flew market. The set included a belt that wrapped around the lower back and the ends
attached with velcro. That did nothing also.

The third (and I think the most powerful magnets) are the ones in the magnassager. They are powerful magnets (3 balls).

They didn't do a thing for him either.

The only thing that helps Alan is when Dr. Theirl gives him the adjustments, or at the end of the evening, I give him a lower back massage.

Oh, one important thing (and we showed this to Dr. Fred the other day).

When Alan is getting the PN pain in the two toes on one foot and the three toes on the other foot (this happened while he was sitting up on the Dr. Fred's examination table, well, Alan said "My feet are doing a dance", That's his expression for when the PN acts up. I said to Dr. Fred: "Watch what I do for him now and watch how he reacts". I massaged his upper thighs (deeply), massaging toward the heart. I did this for a few minutes and Alan said to Dr. Fred "See, I feel great when she does this, so maybe there's a pinched nerve in my thighs?" Dr. Fred said to Alan "Well, we CAN x-ray your thighs but I'm telling you, the nerves go down the back this way (and Dr. Fred showed Alan where the nerves flow down his back.

This PN thing in his toes is very very disconcerting. He doesn't have it any place else. Forgive me for complaining because I know many of you are fighting many more problems than PN in a few toes. But I still think it comes from his lower back and I hope we find a guy who has an x-ray machine and he puts Alan in it and the machine scans his body and then the doctor reads the films and goes 'AHA, HERE'S WHAT'S GIVING HIM THE PN IN HIS TOES.

Yeah, we can only hope,

Love, Melody

The pest is back again , There is nothing wrong with your memory Mel, i am 6 years younger than you and there is no way i could remember all of the details that go into those funny stories that you and Alan get up to, so you are doing really good [even at 59 years young ]

If you want my thoughts on those 3 you mentioned,
1- those inner soles are the biggest rip off of all time [ well the ones i have actually seen and tested for myself have been anyway ] and i haven't heard any good reports about them either from anyone.

2nd - although i have heard some people say those magnetic belts are helpfull for lower back pain, i don't think the magnets in them are strong enough to really do anything, i think that they may help only as a back support more than anything.
My mum bought one years ago and there not cheap either, she never uses it, I have tested it for magnetic strength what a rip off.

3- I haven't come accross that type of device you speak of, so i am only guessing that its some type of device that has some sort of magnetic balls that roll around and vibrate to give a massage type of relief, if so, magnets only work well when left on the affected area for hours may even be 12-24 hours [ depending on the problem] before any relief is found.

For magnets to work they must be strong enough [at least 3,000 gauss] to penetrate the area and left on for days NOT MINUTES to obtain any sort of relief, and i wouldn't pay any more than $5 for one magnet and i would only buy Neodymium magnets sometimes called rare earth magnets.

Wishing you and Allan a very happy new year,
Brian
