You are right. Giving anti-depressants in a circumstance like this would be a very bad idea. And giving them to a child is a worse idea.


A good psychiatrist will help him. Bring in the info you wrote here (you can print it out) and discuss the family history.
Perhaps you can find a psychiatrist who specializes in pediatrics.
