I have an appointment shortly and I am going to talk to the rheumy about coming off the pred as it doesnt appear to be making any difference. Have you had a CT scan of your lungs? I have SLE,APS and myositis. I have on and off shortness of breath (SOB) as well as side pain ( never associated with lung pain) for more than a few years. I have had pulmonary embolisms in the past and just thought this was the after effect. In the past 6/8 months the SOB increased and it began to hurt to breath during the episodes. I attributed it the extra weight and being more inactive but did mention it to my rheumy. I also developed a dry cough with the episodes. A CT scan showed interstitial lung disease.
