I used to have really long hair. (middle of my back) After I got diagnosed with MS, I ended up getting a little of it cut off (just below shoulder length) because my arms would get so tired trying to comb and dry it in the mornings, plus trying to braid it.

Earlier this summer, it was so hot outside and I ended up getting my hair cut because of the heat, and it was just before my latest exacerbation (double vision)

I went to the guy who's been cutting my hair since I was 10, and told him to go ahead and do whatever it was that he'd been trying to talk me into for the last 8 or 9 years.

It was probably one of the best things I've done for myself in saving time and more importantly, energy! Now all I do is wash it, comb it and dry it. I can still use my arms afterwards. (not all exhausted afterwards) I didnt think I'd like it, because I always really enjoyed having long hair, but now I really like having shorter hair.

I used to have problems with psoriasis (or was it seborrhea?) It seems like now that my hair is shorter (just above the shoulders) that almost all my scalp/skin problems have cleared up. (except for some acne, but I think that's the solumedrol at work)

When you go see your doctor, take a list of questions that you want to ask your doctor if you have questions. What I do is take a list, and I have a little mp3 player that has recording capabilities. I ask the doctor if I can record his explanations, and then if I need further help in answering my questions, I play back what he says to my dad (a nurse anesthetist) or my aunt (a nurse practitioner)

If you do what I do and record the conversation, always ask permission to record it before doing so.
