You will really need someone to help you after surgery. You won't be able to bend to take care of feeding cat and cat box, if you have one. It was 3 months before my doctor would let me bend at all and then just slightly. You also won't be able to lift much at all for several weeks. You will know, because it will hurt.

The recovery is 4 to 6 months to heal completely. I am retired, but had I not been I would not have been allowed to go back to work for 5 to months. But your doctor may be different.
