I also think each family member should READ the spoon theory first and actually have them do it physically...

(the original story was actually about Lupus, but the author has graciously enough to let people change the "disease/illness" to whatever suits them with her permission)

in my personal experience. People can empathize but can never fully realize...

and I think it goes true for any of us...

one might have MS and is suffering from it, but if they didn't have TS, how would they know what TSers are going through...

the spoons can be forks sometimes as well, because sometimes, it needs to be sharp to let them fall on the toes to jab so they'll understand that there are PAINS involved...

to me, we no longer need to educate ourselves about our own spoons...it is about educating others about the spoons, forks and knives that we carry...and let's hand them the whole drawer full (from a big huge restaurant) and let them feel the "WEIGHT"

so, I would recommend against PLASTIC spoons (too light)
