We have a cat that refuses to use the litter box unless she has no other choice. She used rugs, backpacks, shoes, books... whatever she could get away with. One day DH had enough and put her in the back yard. Now she refuses to come back inside and stay. She will come in for brief periods, but wants back out to go potty. She goes to the door and meows.

We tried the pheromone sprays, keeping the litter cleaned, squirting her with water if we caught her peeing outside the box ...nothing worked. She was checked by the vet for UTIs and thyroid problems. She was just picky about where she peed.
