I just got back from that same BK (my mom was hungry) and I heard the guy in the drive thru ask the car at his window to pull into that spot and they'd bring his food out to him. (I used to work in a McD's, we called that "parking" a car, but we had designated spots for that and never used the handicap spot for that)
I was like, "wth?!".
I asked the manager about it, and they told me that no one ever uses the handicap spots. I pointed out my car with my mom's placard on it, and then pointed at my mom and her walker.
The guy they parked pulled into the same spot as the guy yesterday. (so, that's probably why that happened yesterday too)
I told the manager that's not a place to have someone wait for hot french fries. I got a little attitude back from him. I guess I'll be sending an email to Burger King Corporate later tonight once I can figure out what to say.
Maybe I'll write a letter to the local paper too. Public humiliation of a business screwing around like that sometimes can work wonders.
I just dont get it. They could have "parked" the guy waiting for his food along the curb where the drive thru lane ends. I guess the employees dont want to walk the extra 25 yards across the parking lot.
