I have to make a comment on the butting of the soccer ball with head.

I hope this doesn't offend anyone. But its something that I found very
interesting with my son.

My son is now 18 and the only thing his neurologist said when he told her
he was going to play soccer with his friends on a team at school.

She said, As long as you never hit the ball with your head, period. You
can play. The ball can hit you any where else it has to. But it can never
hit you in the head.

See he has epilepsy, has seen he was 5 or 6.

So he said to her, but if I hit the ball with my hands its a foul. And she
said, yes I know but that is still okay, its not your head.

So I have to admit, he did very good playing. But he played on the 5 and
6th, 7th grade team one year. And they were good kids. But the coach
knew ahead of time thanks to me. And then my son told his teammates,
and the coach again, first practice that he wasn't allowed to head bunt.

So the rule was, that if they practiced head bunting, the kid practicing
with Derrick would throw the ball to his legs. I have to admit, only one
time did someone forget. And derrick just stuck his hands up and it
would have been a foul in a game.
But the rest of the boys were the one's that said to his partner, Derrick
doesn't have balls thrown to his head, so don't do that again.

1. Then during one game, it was a competitive team we were playing.
They had the habit of putting down the other team players. They hadn't
seen much of Derrick. But all the sudden he was on the field and stuck
to it. And then for some reason there was a ball flying through the air
at his face. Well my son, stuck his arm up and got the foul.

But not a one of his teammates, said a thing. It was the other team, they
yelled at him. Said, something very mean about not just head bunting the
ball instead of looking like a idiot.

My son, just said, I'm not allowed to head bunt doctor's orders. So I did what
I had too. So I can play. The other team started to say something.

One of the kids on Derrick's team, the main kid, Said, if you have a problem with his play talk to me, his teammates have no problem with what he did.
We expect him to do exactly what he did.
