I have taken Lexapro. I recently read in Readers Digest that Lexapro and Zoloft are considered the most effective SSRI's. I don't recall any particular improvement on Lexapro above that of any other SSRI/SSRNI. As far as the other condition that you mention, I am afraid that I am not familiar with that.
