I have the same problem, and the only way I found to make it less painful, is sit in the back and let someone else drive. Even car rides are tough, so that is a real good question.

I have a hard time finding people to drive, so I wind up driving more than I care to. I wish my wife would learn, but she has a fear of all the cars around her.
