Try putting an ice pack on the wrist..that used to help me.

If this is a temporary thing...like you strained it or slept on it funny, an OTC Salonpas patch may help.
I use the ones with methyl salicylate in them. They take down any inflammation from minor strains quickly.

Apply the ice pack or patch along the wrist area below the thumb. That is where the nerve goes to the thumb and first 2 fingers.

I had terrible carpal tunnel when I was pregnant but most of it resolved after I delivered. It still flares up now and then. I use the splints at night to protect the wrist if I get warning signs.
