I had mine over 18 years ago but the one thing I remember most is to make sure you keep a small/firm pillow {or sheet folded small and tight} to hold against your chest. Do not do as I did when I got home and start sweeping the floor..LOL I also had the plasma exchange for a week prior to surgery and I have to say I felt wonderful from it. I also went into a drug free remission for 17 years from the surgery.. so the pain is well worth it! Like having a baby, when the pain goes away you forget it and the outcome is so worth the pain.
