Hi Whirlwind!
Wow! You poor thing! how scary for you!
My Gram is allergic to any/all opiates and I think Vicodin is an opiate - you need to check with your dr and make sure that you CAN take them without it affecting your breathing! I am the polar opposite! I can take ANYTHING (so far, knock wood) and am fine.......Appaently I have a very acidic body that processes things funny, so I have to have 12 or so shots for my root canals and then it still doesn't work, so I end up getting shots IN the nerve to help with pain...........
I really would check and make sure you're OK with your dr b/4 you take anything else. I'm not trying to be doom and gloom girl, just a concerned friend.....Do you have anyone with you to help YOU out?
Hang in there, sweetie! I bet you can get another type of pain reliever that will WORK and not make you sick!

In a lot of pain, came home in a lot of pain gave me vicodin., took it twice., still have a good bit of mucous and but basically breathing fine., no muscle weekness. But pain., is it okay to take the vicodin since I had a little trouble breathing?
