Default The ER visit turned out to be...

I haven't been feeling well for almost a week, then I get a low grade fever, then I get Cellulitis Dermatitis...a staph infection. I thought it would be fine in a few days...was I incorrect!

I finally decided Saturday evening to go to the ER, my PCP is not in his office on Fridays. I didn't think it would be a good idea to wait since my DH started his new job, in another state, to wait. The ER doc had to cut it open, almost an inch incision, even though it was draining some. They did give me an IV pain med, after and hour he came in. He also tried to inject Lidocaine into the abcess...yeah, painful, very painful.

He couldn't get the med to go in because the tissue was too hard...using a scapel on a woman not tied down can be a bad idea. I managed to lie still, not scream, but the sheet I was holding will never be wrinkle free again. Today I feel some better, but it is still painful to sit, walk or lie still since it is in my groin. He wanted me to see a surgeon but that is out of the question.
I woke up this morning and still had a fever.

He told me that you can't get rid of the 'staph' because it 'lives' in your hair/follicles. Staph can be caused by something as small as an ant bite, and most times they heal on their own, not this time. I never had one until last year after I came back from Florida, and if my grandkids get one and come around...soon after I do. I was just visiting one of them several days ago, he was in the ER a few days before with...guess...yep, staph.lol

I think I should Lysol, Clorox, and disinfect my whole body.lol
