When I was a kid, the iron and board lived in the hall closet downstairs. The board was already pretty worn out. Each of us kids (6) had 3 school uniforms - one we had on, one in the laundry, and one being ironed for the next day.

Mom ironed every day and she was good at it. She still irons almost everything she wears, just before she puts it on in the morning, especially if she's going someplace nice.

I can't iron worth snot - put more wrinkle in than I get out. I use my iron solely for sewing - when I used to sew - to make a crisp hem or edge. That much I can do. For wrinkles, they have a no-wrinkle setting on the dryer and that spray stuff and that's how I roll.
