hi allen
have you been to the dentist yet?
well let me tell you..........october 2005 i started with serious, i mean SERIOUS pain on the right side of my mouth. i could feel this wasn't the tooth but i went to my dentist anyway, ''cos what could it have been if not the tooth. i mean we got teeth in our mouth dont' we LOL. it was so bad that not a drop of liquid or a crumb of food could touch that side of the mouth. i was drinking coffee, tea, water through a straw. putting little bits of food into the left side. even when the saliva built up it was horribly painful. so my dentist took x-rays and told me nothing wrong. go back a week later and he says he'll try take the nerve out to see if it would help. that didn't help so he took the nerve out of the bottom molar. that didn't help either so he sent me to the maxo facial speacialist dude who also couldn't find anything wrong. eventually all the doctors combined said that the RSD had spread to the right side of the mouth. it eventually settled but every now and again it flairs up.
now when i go to the dentist i get anaesthetic in the top and bottom whole right side of my face. because believe me if that drill so much as touches that side of my face i can hit the roof.
my dentist has suggested to me that the next time i just go under general. good idea i think, i'll just wait and see. i've had crowns done on 3 of the molars on the right side soooooooo.
