the neuro-psych eval showed that i am impaired and below average post injury at retaining verbal information. though visually i now have superior recognition.
.... i was referred to speech therapy with the explanation that it assists to retrain the brain after injury. not only for the sake of speech correction. i presume that your physicians are recognizing similar impairments in your ability to discern, retain, and convey audio information and the speech therapy is akin to physical therapy, work that brain muscle !
