For example, I need a prompt to help me remember things like basic math, map reading, etc... I'll always need a prompt, but she's teaching me ways to gain access faster. She's also trying to make it so I can learn new things. We go through instructions one by one, inventing picture icons as we go. At the end, I can look at the pictures and do reasonably well at playing the game or running the appliance. Faced just with a page of written instructions, I'm hopeless. She's also helping me to concentrate and deal with distraction.
So, in short, there's lots of things a speech therapist can help you with. Mine is among my most useful clinicians.
