Hi Mick and welcome to NeuroTalk!
I have permanent nerve damage in my right arm & hand. It's taken about two years to get the use of my hand back. At first it was completely useless. I couldn't do anything with it. Now, even though it's still numb, I have use of it....although limited and it's very weak.
I've gotten used to my "new normal" and it doesn't bother me as much as it did in the beginning.
