That's amazing! We had our first hard frost last night but no snow yet. Anything can happen in Illinois though. We had our coldest summer on record since (I think) the 1920s? I had one pepper from each of my two plants.
I started moonflowers from seed and didn't get one bloom. The petunias I started from seed didn't flower until September and I started the seed in March!
The tomatoes didn't do very well either because it was a cool summer. It would have been a good time to plant the Alaska varieties.
I read somewhere that we're supposed to have a very cold winter but not too much snow, I think that's what the farmer's almanac said for our area.
