If you can get a diagnosis for the cause, that will be of help - I am fortunate enough to have one for my own severe ongoing pain, and knowing its cause is of some help, even knowing it is incurable. Because at least I can put a name to it when others ask, and because any knowledge is good to have.

I have been through several psychological stages since it happened to me - I won't attempt to describe them because I am sure everyone's path is different, and in any case it has often been three steps forward and two back.
