Let's all get to know each other. How did you find NT? I'll think of more questions. Y'all think of some too.

Hi,
I originally joined NeuroTalk back in August and was trying to make contact with anyone who had recent spine surgery for spondylolisthesis (L5/S1) with
severe nerve compression in the L5 root. The L5 vertebrea got fractured at some point (I'm not sure how) and, over the years I've developed a grade II slippage that has begun to damage a nerve. It is painful, but it's not the pain I want to manage....it's the actual nerve damage. (I'm now trying decompression therapy with a chiropracter).
Anyway, my neurosurgeon says I am a candidate for spinal fusion of the L5/S1 vertebra. Supposedly, if successful, the outcome will be relief of the nerve pressure and hopefully allow my right leg to return to normal. I've got some muscle issues now because the nerve is not transmitting the proper signals to the calf muscle...and this condition just worsen's with time. If you or a member you know of, had this condition, I hope you will respond when you have time.

the injury set me back over a year ago.)
