I'm back to edit -- to explain that I wrote this "what would you do" as a way to talk about some of my problems but be kind of silly about it. I'm not facing everything on this list, and I didn't mean to mislead you. I'm sorry.
What would
you do if:
- a family member calls and asks for financial help
- your child's doctor asks you to decide whether or not to go forward with a gastric tube
- your siblings publicly attack your spouse
- your spouse abuses you (emotionally, psychologically)
- your agoraphobia is disabling
- your relatives only contact you when they want something
- you witness (in some form) child abuse
- you have black-out periods
- you are told that you can no longer drive
- you suspect that the radiologist was lazy and pulled up your parent's file and then used that to "fill-in-the-blanks"
- you care deeply about someone but you don't have the skill set to convey your feelings
- you don't trust your spouse or your siblings
- you are told by your doctor that you need to get your affairs in order
- you are accused of malfeasance but can prove otherwise
- you know that you are mentally ill
- you have evidence of elder abuse
- you are told that the "chemo brain" may be a permanent side effect
- you could choose to leave this life
- the 'phone rings, caller I.D. shows it's the one person who has hurt you or betrayed you the most
- your pet is only content sleeping in your bed
- the gecko is in your den
- your neighbors are illegal aliens
- your neighbor parks the vehicle with out-of-state tag facing into the garage
- your nephew lied to you to get several thousand dollars in order to finish college
- you can't get your photos to "upload"
- your plants will die if you don't bring them into the house
- you can't remember what you did last night
- you are thrilled that you were able to sleep for 10-11 hours
- your family is in agreement only when discussing your faults
- your contractor/carpenter does a poor job of repairing/replacing the rotted wood on the exterior of your house
- you could set up a charitable organization and keep only enough money to pay your basic bills
- you could choose, after death, the method by which your remains are disposed
- you failed to acknowledge a thoughtful gift from an online friend
- you don't have a clue how to mend fences
- you are alone and need help
- you think this post is stupid
Wondering what I would do . . .
