Default OK, 'disconnect' stuff? It is strange...at best put

Ok, a week after I'd crashed and 'burned' as we say in the riding circles, tho not 'totally trashed' as in traction or requiring surgery or the like...
OK, relate story as best and short as I can: Horse slipped and fell-I was on him. We landed and my 'crash helmet' came off. Not that it'd make much difference as the clay ground w/bluestone topping was ROCK HARD due to a drought. So I mite as well have hit rock? Ambulance came and they asked me who the prezzie was...answer? WRONG, but one I liked?
In and out of consciousness in the ER for 3-4 hours before x-rays and being admitted. Since I 'fell' at about 10am and it was now about 4-5 pm? I WANTED FOOD! But, due to the perceived/actual concussion, got orange jellow. That was it!
The 'disconnect' came after I got home. What I thot the doc told me vs. what was really told to me were, apparently two different things. Had to go back to work [w/fractured ribs and bruised bones] a week later. I had trouble remembering my staff's First names[I supervised 3 good folks], let alone their last names? I'd Find myself doing something 'simple' over and over again? And not remember doing it the first time. Welcome to the Twilight Zone?
And worse was driving to and from work! I'd find myself 'suddenly' about two miles from where I last remembered! That I didn't kill myself or others on the road? It's a miracle I still believe it to be. I was always on the right paths tho...go figger. At home, I'd watch a TV show and find myself at the end, going...What happened? Time warp here! It took about 4-6 weeks for most of the worst effects [asides from my ribs?] to wear off brain-wise. Not to mention the 'headache'? It eased up in time. lots of it.
The way a doc explained it to me, which sort of makes sense in a simplistic way... is that your brain is like an egg. It's got a shell, and a membrane and some juices that insulate the yolk [the real brain?] and if it get shook up very hard? Well, it sorta gets scrambled. The MRI's and CT's are to see that the 'scrambling' isn't really bad damage. That you are ok in that quarter is GOOD! VERY! But, it takes TIME to allow it to heal. Now, I know you are much younger than I am or was, at the time I clunked my head! But, these things take their own time and place to heal!
I know it's hard to be sort of static for a while? But it is essential!
Yep, that brain is a terrible thing to lose! Got that! Better to have the brain, thank you very much!
Hugs and hope and keep w/the programs, whatever they are? You are smart enuf to ask questions of US, now start asking questions of those docs!
Go get 'em lady! Hugs etc. - j
PS are you clearer on the 'disconnect' now? I hope so!
