Well I'm glad that I could help - at least helping you get in the right direction....I'm sorry to hear that your attorney dropped you - Some are just lazy and dont want to do any work. Sounds like thats the one in your case. Others just want things to fall into their lap - I actually had one tell us that we needed to appeal SS the first 2 times and then when we got to our 3rd try and got our hearing in front of a judge to let him know before the date and he'd be sure to show up for court! Yeah he'd show up - To get his check for NO work! I was floored....Needless to say we got another attorney for SS.
My best advice to anyone needing an attorney is this - Get one OUT OF YOUR TOWN. Find a big city close by (within the state) and hire them. An attorney within your town knows or might know too many people related to your case. Also it seems bigger city attornies seem to be more agressive. This is from what I've seen, heard and experienced. (A personal opinion as well)...
