DD - dear daughter
DH - dear husband
BIL/
SIL - brother/sister in law
FIL/
MIL - father/mother in law
etc you get the idea.
then there's the doctors.
T is often used for Therapist
tdoc also used for Therapist
pdoc - psychiatrist
Epi - epileptologist
mdoc or GP - one's general doctor
NP - Nurse Practitioner (they can prescribe meds) - some see an NP instead of a general doc
BP - "traditionally" used here to mean Bipolar. and people sometimes think of it as two parts and may even write Bi Polar (technically it is one word). anyway that
is how
BP gets used
here.

when reading elsewhere -the most common abbreviation for Bipolar Disorder is
BD.
PD - Personality Disorder
BPD - Borderline Personality Disorder
NPD - Narcissistic Personality Disorder
PPD - Paranoid PD
et al.
NOS - Not Otherwise Specified, eg:
BD-NOS or
Bipolar NOS - Bipolar Disorder, Not Otherwise Specified (i.e. not type 1 or 2)
PD-NOS - Personality Disorder, Not Otherwise Specified (no specific disorder applies accurately)
OCD - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
ADD - Attention Deficit Disorder
ADHD or
AD(H)D - Attention Deficity/Hyperactivity Disorder
SI - Self Injury
CBT - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

OBT - (not a type of therapy LOL). This stands for Old BrainTalk - the forum several of us posted to, in reference to its 2005 and older incarnations, not the current one.
