It takes time for the Provigil to work. At least two weeks. I used it for years so I could drive to work and keep working. 200 mg at 6 am, and 100 mg more in the afternoon , like 1 to 2 pm. For years it helped, but if I overdid things I could take a Provigil and then take a nap, so I know what you mean.
After being on it for over a year or more it lost it's effect, so I would stop it on the weekends, or only 100 mg and it worked during the week again for me. This is just what I did, always ask your doctor, which I am not.
What dosage are you on? It's very expensive still isn't it? This new one out Nuvigil works a little different. It's had a little different structure and method of action.
Sally, I take Bayer coated Aspirin
Plus 2 caplets of 500 mg each when needed.
BGB, maybe the doctor can give you a weight-loss medication, if you have a weight problem. Some of these boost your energy and lessen fatigue. Just a thought.
